Sam Tortorici, leads banking operations in Alabama and serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Committee for Regions Financial Corporation. He is a 20-year veteran with Regions, a top U.S. bank-holding company headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, with $138 billion in assets, operating over 2,000 branches in 16 states.
Prior to assuming his current role in 2007, Tortorici served as area executive for North Central Alabama and city president for Birmingham. Since joining Regions in 1987 as a commercial banking credit analyst, he has served in a number of management roles, including chief financial officer and head of the Corporate Banking Division.
Tortorici earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Alabama. He also participated in executive education programs at the University of Delaware’s Stonier Graduate School of Banking, Georgia State University’s Graduate Leadership Management Institute and Duke University’s Fuqua Graduate School of Business. Tortorici has earned his permanent Certified Cash Manager certification.
Tortorici serves on the boards of directors and holds leadership positions with the Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce (Chairman-Elect), United Way of Central Alabama (2008 General Campaign Chairman), Operation New Birmingham, University of Alabama Our Students/Our Future Campaign, University of Alabama President’s Cabinet, Alabama Business Charitable Trust Fund, Arthritis Foundation, St. Vincent’s Foundation, Rotary Club of Birmingham, Covenant Presbyterian Church and The Summit Club.

Hoak has held the position since 2006 and provides executive leadership to all wholesale banking operations in the Community Region, which includes small and mid-sized markets throughout Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia
He holds a B.S. in business administration, The Citadel and an M.B.A., Wake Forest University.
