What
is a Planned Gift? How to Leave a Lasting Legacy
A planned
gift is a gift made during your lifetime or a deferred gift
through a will, estate plan, or some other means.
A gift
to United Way of Central Alabama, Inc., from your estate can
help children in need of medical care, families who have lost
their homes to natural disasters, or a person with a disability
who wants to learn marketable skills. You can perpetuate your
gift to United Way so future generations can benefit from
your generosity.
Gifts
to our Endowment Fund are critical to the mission of United
Way. Consider your gift a sound investment that can benefit
you and your family today, and serve those in need in our
community in the future. Contact your professional, financial
or legal advisor for help. Your advisor can make sure you
are getting the maximum tax and legal advantages allowed for
your gift.
Some of
the ways to make a lasting legacy include:
- Outright
gifts of cash
- Bequest
through a will
- Securities,
such as stocks and bonds
- Various
income generating trusts
- Real
estate, leases or deeds
- IRA
or retirement funds
- Life
insurance
- Gift
Annuity
The United
Way also welcomes contributions made in memory of a family
member, friend or employee, and honorariums given in recognition
of holidays, retirements or special occasions. For more information
contact DJ Hampton II at 205-458-2025 or send an email to
