Each year United Way of Central Alabama relies on over 600 Visiting Allocation Team (VAT) members to help make decisions about what community programs will be a good investment of United Way dollars. VATs increase program accountability to donors of United Way by requiring agencies to define how donor funds will be spent. Between late September and early November, teams of 20-25 volunteers convene to discuss agency allocation requests and determine whether funds requested will be a good investment of United Way dollars. Your Allocation Team will be chaired by a volunteer who will guide you and your fellow team members through the process. In addition, United Way staff will provide training and general assistance to the Team.

On behalf of the clients served by more than 80 United Way agency partners, we would like to thank you for considering this opportunity to serve in such an important capacity.  Please take a few minutes to review a complete description of VAT roles and responsibilities and complete the on-line registration form by August 16, 2013.
