United Way of Central Alabama Board Chair
Doug Coltharp
Douglas E. Coltharp is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Encompass Health Corporation, a position he has held since 2010.
With extensive experience in corporate finance and strategic planning, he previously served as a partner at Arlington Capital Advisors and Arlington Investment Partners, LLC, and spent 11 years as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Saks, Inc., a Fortune 1000 national retailer. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at Bank of America, where he served as Senior Vice President and Head of Southeast Corporate Banking.
A graduate of Lehigh University with a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics, Mr. Coltharp earned his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in finance and strategic planning. He has served on the Board of Directors of Under Armour, Inc. since 2004 and currently chairs both the Finance and Capital Planning Committee and the Audit Committee. He also serves on the Advisory Boards of RFG Advisory and Tom Beckbe, a premium outdoor apparel company.
Committed to strengthening communities, Mr. Coltharp is an active civic leader. He serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of United Way of Central Alabama and led the UWCA Annual Campaign in 2021. He is also a board member of the Birmingham Education Foundation, working to advance educational opportunities for students in the region.
