Hands On Birmingham Rebranding as United Way Hands On

United Way of Central Alabama’s volunteer arm is rebranding. United Way Hands On, formerly known as Hands On Birmingham, not only has a new name and logo, but also new services, a new volunteer platform, and more organizations that need help and links to groups looking to serve.

The website is linked to a platform called INVOLVE with new engagement tools for registration and searching for volunteer opportunities. INVOLVE is the next generation of volunteer engagement software. Anyone can search and register for local volunteer opportunities and search for causes they care about. Their information is stored to review, manage memberships, track their hours, and share their experiences with others by posting comments and pictures.

The rebranded volunteer initiative came about with the upsurge in social responsibility and the need to move the needle on important community issues. Businesses and corporations are also looking for more service- learning opportunities for their employees and United Way Hands On wants to aid in that process.

Other new aspects of the rebrand include the expansion into all of United Way’s five-county area, which includes Jefferson, Shelby, Walker, Blount, and St. Clair Counties Hands On will also be working hand-in-hand with UWCA to expand and deepen community engagement, therefore helping bring about positive social change through the power of volunteerism.

Through United Way’s new volunteer platform, INVOLVE, Hands On can bring together people with similar interests. The platform will also manage memberships, registrations, communicate, and collect data and feedback.

United Way Hands On is focused on connecting people with organized and meaningful volunteer opportunities to help bring about positive social change in their community. Hands On makes it easy for you to make a difference! United Way Hands On partners with over 150 nonprofits, Birmingham Parks and Recreation and schools in five different counties.
