Share the Love with Subaru and Meals on Wheels this Holiday Season

Subaru Share the Love Graphic with a Meals on Wheels client and volunteer.

If your holiday season includes car shopping or service this year, you can also make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors in need. Since 2008, during its Share the Love event, Subaru has partnered with Meals on Wheels America to provide meals and a sense of community to seniors nationwide, including those in Central Alabama.

From November 21, 2024, through January 2, 2025, for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased, Subaru will donate at least $300 to charity. Customers can choose from four national charities, including Meals on Wheels, or select a hometown charity through participating retailers. Additionally, Subaru will donate $5 for each routine service visit made during the campaign period to these charities.

We are proud to participate in this campaign, which helps ensure that local seniors receive the vital support they need during the holidays and beyond. Thanks to the generosity of Subaru and its customers, Meals on Wheels will deliver millions of nutritious meals and friendly visits to seniors nationwide who might otherwise go without.

The Need Is Real: Why Seniors Need Our Support

The need for senior assistance has never been more urgent. Seniors are facing escalating challenges, from hunger to isolation. One in two seniors living alone lacks the income to meet basic needs, making it difficult to afford food, medicine or utilities. With the senior population projected to reach 91 million by 2060, the demand for services such as Meals on Wheels will continue to grow.

According to Meals on Wheels America, nearly 13 million seniors are facing hunger. For many, a nutritious meal delivered by a volunteer is their only meal of the day. Rising food costs combined with limited income make it harder for many seniors to make ends meet — especially during the winter months when the need for both food and heat becomes even more critical.

A Powerful Partnership

Through the Share the Love event, Subaru and its customers have helped deliver more than 4.6 million meals and friendly visits to seniors in need since 2008. This holiday season, Share the Love with those who need it most. Whether by purchasing or leasing a new Subaru and choosing Meals on Wheels as your charity — or simply by sharing this campaign with others — every act of kindness helps.
