Jefferson County Board of Education employee Janet speaks to how the system is able to use money from United Way of Central Alabama Children’s Fund to help homeless students.
More than 40 of the 56 Jefferson County Schools have displaced or homeless students. These funds enable them to remove barriers for the students such as clothing, toiletry kits, air mattresses, fees, etc.
