The United Way of Central Alabama is looking for volunteers to serve on the Visiting Allocations Team (VAT) for the 2021 allocation review process. All partner agencies sponsored through UWCA’s annual campaign will be reviewed by volunteers virtually to protect the health of clients, volunteers, and staff.
Each year, over 500 volunteers help make decisions about which community programs will be a good investment of United Way dollars raised during the annual campaign. These volunteers work as an integral part of the Visiting Allocation Teams.
Our Visiting Allocation Teams (VAT) are critical to the success of our 71 member agencies and the community as a whole. VAT members are responsible for the following:
- Between September and early November, a time commitment of 8-10 hours is required.
- Attending and actively engaging in three virtual agency site visits, as well as a virtual team meeting.
- Examining the agency’s programs and achievements.
- Contributing to the creation of the team’s suggestions.
How do volunteers sign up?
Please visit www.uwca.org/vat to register. The deadline to register is September 1st, 2021. By early September, registered volunteers will get their team assignments.
Your Allocation Team will be led by an experienced volunteer who will guide you and your team members through the process. Staff from the United Way will also provide training and general assistance.
Please contact Veronica Horton at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions about the Allocations process or registration.
