Community Impact

Since 1923, United Way of Central Alabama (UWCA) has served Central
Alabama faithfully to meet the immediate and long-term needs of residents.
While continuing to move from a COVID response phase to helping with the
recovery of those affected most during these unprecedented times, we are
looking forward to a future that builds communities by identifying and
strategically targeting services to meet their individual needs.

UWCA has gone through a strategic planning process led by Committee
Chair Chip Bivins of the University of Alabama System to extend access
to our programs and services within underserved communities. This is a
long-term strategy with three primary goals:
