Community Crisis Fund
For many, the pandemic exposed the fragile balance of
individual and family needs when income was lost or reduced.
Add to that, children in remote learning situations lost meals
they would normally receive at school. In response, United 3,165,900
Way of Central Alabama’s Community Crisis Fund awarded
Crisis Fund grants to front-line programs to help fill the gaps.
Additionally, the need for healthy meal deliveries to area Meals on Wheels pounds of food were
provided to 291,493
seniors and people with disabilities continued. Through United clients from January to
Way Meals on Wheels and the Area Agency on Aging’s Senior September of 2021
Nutrition Program, shelf-stable and nutritious meals contin-
ued to be provided throughout 2021. 426,298
