An industry-leading tractor giant from Birmingham reignited their annual Day of Caring recently with a donation to three United Way of Central Alabama programs.

Thompson Tractor Co. employees and Thompson Foundation donated enough supplies and packed enough care kits to fill nine pallets. The recipients of Thompson’s employees’ hard work included UWCA programs Priority Veteran, Success by 6 and United Way Area Agency on Aging.

“I was overwhelmed and honestly shocked by how generous and gracious our employees were,” said Annie Thompson, Executive Director of Thompson Foundation. “We look forward to doing this again next year because overall, I think it was a success and I hope the recipients were happy with the kits.”

Employees from Thompson Tractor Co. spent their day packing care kits, building camaraderie and enjoying a break from daily operations. “We had a blow-up moonwalk, ice cream truck and food,” Thompson said.

Philanthropic work is not new to Thompson Tractor Co. However, the leadership desired do something beyond donating monetarily that would leave a lasting impression on the staff and promote unity.

“We’re already huge supporters of United Way, so we’re glad we were able to collect for the three programs,” Thompson said.

Thompson Tractor Co. kicks off its United Way fundraising campaign to benefit over 80 nonprofit agencies and programs on Oct. 10.
