Vice President, Community Initiatives – CI620
Position Summary: Manage the day-to-day operations of assigned Community Initiatives programs. Works closely with and supervises program heads within the department to establish protocols and help set and achieve performance goals for each program. Monitors and tracks performance against goals for each program. Coordinates development of grants and funding proposals in support of program objectives. Works with finance to analyze budgets and spending against budgets. Masters Degree in related field (MPA, MSW, MBA, etc.)
Bold Goals Community Engagement Coordinator – BG401
Position Summary: The Bold Goals Community Engagement Coordinator will provide support to the VP of Bold Goals in developing strategies for improving community involvement and enhancing partner engagement in the Bold Goals Coalition. This position will primarily provide administrative support for the management of active coalitions in the areas of health and education, while also working to expand community involvement in the development and implementation of the Coalition’s work. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to communicate and successfully work with diverse individuals and groups. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required. Previous administrative experience required. Experience with the social services field strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to create processes and systems, identify and initiate continuous improvement. Ability to thrive in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. Evidence of organizational ability and ability to successfully complete assigned projects. Excellent technology skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience in community planning, communication, volunteer management, marketing or project management preferred, but not required.
Health Insurance Claims Admin Assistant – RW400
Position Summary: Responsible for assisting with scanning and assigning insurance claims. Provide back up support for other claims specialists within the program. Minimum is a high school diploma and 2 years of experience in a health insurance claims/medical billing office. Associates degree in accounting/business or medical coding program preferred. Medical, dental claims processing a plus. Medical coding certificate preferred.

Position Summary: The receptionist is responsible for providing customer service, greeting and some administrative support in an efficient and effective manner to the Community Services department and Crisis Center, Inc. High school diploma or equivalent.
Community Allocations & Grants – I200
Position Summary: The Community Allocations & Grants Coordinator will be the primary support for the Director of Agency Relations & Allocations and the VP of Allocations and Grants to ensure proper stewardship of UWCA donor dollars awarded annually through a variety of funding channels. This position will primarily provide administrative support for the management of funding processes, coordination of the administrative and financial aspects of grants, cooperative agreements, and post award actions. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to communicate and successfully work with diverse individuals and groups. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
Community Data Coordinator – I201
Position Summary: The Community Data Coordinator will be the primary support for the Data and Evaluation Manager and the VP of Allocations & Grants in the review, analysis, integration, and reporting of data in the Community Impact department. This includes support for data planning, analysis, visualization, and presentation. A critical piece of the position is supporting efforts to review, organize, and analyze grant reported data and synthesize it for use in community planning and communication purposes. The Community Data Coordinator will work closely with internal departments and external partners on multiple initiatives to communicate results. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to communicate and successfully work with diverse individuals and groups. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
Program Specialist (Part-Time), Area Agency on Aging of Jefferson County – AAA211
Position Summary: Coordinates and manages monthly invoicing and reporting for Nutrition, AL Cares and Homemaker/Personal Care programs. Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum two years relevant professional work experience preferred.
Public Relations Specialist – PR200
Position Summary: The PR Specialist is an entry-mid level public relations position that works closely with the PR and Marketing team to perform daily tasks related to the entire organization. The candidate should have strong writing, research and organizational skills. A bachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising or communications related field. Advanced degree in a related field a plus. Minimum of two years experience in an agency or corporate setting and demonstrated proficiency with public relations practices. Experience in social services a plus.
Alabama Cares Specialist, Area Agency on Aging of Jefferson County – CI560
Position Summary: Coordinates Information, Assistance, Counseling, Respite and Supplemental Services to assist Caregivers with the duties involved in taking care of their loved ones. Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Behavioral or Human Services. Minimum of 2 years of paid social service experience including case management preferred.

Position Summary: United Way of Central Alabama, Inc. is looking for a creative and enthusiastic Content Writer to join our Marketing and Communications team. Position Summary: This position will serve as primary administrative support for the Workplace Campaign team. Associates or bachelors degree required.
Accountant – F501
Position Summary: Responsible for bank reconciliations, monthly rent allocation, pre-paid and other monthly expense allocation by department and annual fixed assets. Responsible for communicating to CFO on any financial needs. BS in Accounting or related field preferred, CPA a plus. Four to five years of accounting experience.
Assistant Director, Area Agency on Aging of Jefferson County – AAA400
Position Summary: Support for programs and services administered by the United Way Area Agency on Aging of Jefferson County. Responsible for direct supervision and management of ADRC, Senior Rx, SHIP, and Title III Part B and Part E services. Master’s Degree in social service or related field (MPA, MSW, MBA, MS, etc.). 5+ years’ progressively responsible program management and supervisory experience, and case management experience preferred. Experience with activities related to senior services and/or health-related social services preferred.
Facilities Manager – OP555
Position Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing UWCA property and building-related activities including services such as maintaining the buildings and grounds of the organization, overseeing the upkeep of equipment and supplies, determining and scheduling maintenance or repairs, overseeing building contractors and coordinating any required safety inspections. Below is a summary of the key responsibilities of this role, other responsibilities not listed may also be assigned as needed. High school education or equivalent required. College degree and / or technical degree preferred.
Priority Veteran Case Manager (Birmingham, Huntsville, Tuscaloosa, and Montgomery) – PV405
Position Summary: Provide “Housing First” case management for very low income veterans and veteran families who are homeless or facing eviction. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work preferred; military experience preferred; combination of education and experience considered.
Priority Veteran Health Care Navigator (Birmingham, Huntsville, and Montgomery) – PV401
Position Summary: Provide services that include connecting homeless or at-risk Veterans to VA health care services or other community-based health care services. Work collaboratively with Veterans, Priority Veteran Case Managers, and VA Medical Center (VAMC) staff to ensure appropriate health care coordination. Bachelor’s degree in social work, license preferred. 2 years’ experience in a healthcare or social services area of practice. Veteran status and knowledge of VAMC preferred.
Quality Improvement Coordinator – OP112
Position Summary: Supports the continuous improvement of Ryan White Part B services by working under the supervision of the Alabama Department of Public Health Clinical Quality team and with Part B service providers, collecting and analyzing data related to the quality and quantity of services provided and the effectiveness of those services in meeting clients’ needs and facilitates implementation of improvement activities. Degree in Nursing. Master’s degree or Registered Nurse preferred.
