Aging and Disability Resource Center Specialist, Area Agency on Aging of Jefferson County – CI555
Position Summary: Responsible for telephone screening and/or assessment of individuals to determine program eligibility for the ADRC, a single point of entry for older adults and people with disabilities who need information and assistance with community resources and access to publicly funded, community based long term care programs. Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in human services/social work/geriatrics. Minimum of 1 year of experience in health care, community outreach, community resources, medical social work, case management or geriatrics preferred.
Facilities Manager – OP555
Position Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing UWCA property and building-related activities including services such as maintaining the buildings and grounds of the organization, overseeing the upkeep of equipment and supplies, determining and scheduling maintenance or repairs, overseeing building contractors and coordinating any required safety inspections. Below is a summary of the key responsibilities of this role, other responsibilities not listed may also be assigned as needed. High school education or equivalent required. College degree and / or technical degree preferred.
Tax Assistance Site Coordinator – Seasonal – VITA200
Position Summary: Assist VITA Director with oversight of program operations for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, including volunteer development, direct supervision of volunteers and site operations, and ensuring volunteer compliance with IRS requirements, and with Covid-19 safety protocols. Bachelors degree preferred and/or five to ten years professional work experience. Experience training and supervising volunteers, and professional experience with financial skills preferred.
Priority Veteran Case Manager (Birmingham, Huntsville, and Montgomery) – PV405
Position Summary: Provide “Housing First” case management for very low income veterans and veteran families who are homeless or facing eviction. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work preferred; military experience preferred; combination of education and experience considered.
Priority Veteran Health Care Navigator (Birmingham, Huntsville, and Montgomery) – PV401
Position Summary: Provide services that include connecting homeless or at-risk Veterans to VA health care services or other community-based health care services. Work collaboratively with Veterans, Priority Veteran Case Managers, and VA Medical Center (VAMC) staff to ensure appropriate health care coordination. Master’s degree in social work, license preferred. 2 years’ experience in a healthcare or social services area of practice. Veteran status and knowledge of VAMC preferred.
Director, Area Agency on Aging of Jefferson County – AAA222
Position Summary: Highly responsible position involves planning, organizing and directing a county-wide area agency on aging according to the requirements of the Older American’s Act to ensure needs assessment, program development and coordination of services for senior citizens of Jefferson County. Directs and manages administrative functions of the Area Agency on Aging of Jefferson County (AAA) to include Nutrition, ADRC, Senior Rx, SHIP, Ombudsman, and Title 3 services. Master’s Degree in social service or related field (MPA, MSW, MBA, MS, etc.) preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible program management and supervisory experience, and case management experience preferred. Experience with activities related to federal program administration preferred.
Director of Individual Gifts – RD807
Position Summary: Responsible for growth in fundraising and engagement of donors in United Way’s Affinity Groups and individuals otherwise not solicited through a traditional workplace campaign. These segments include but are not limited to: Women United, J. Mason Davis Leadership Society, Young Philanthropists, Builders, Loyal Contributors, retirees, dentists, and physicians. Bachelor’s degree required.
Quality Improvement Coordinator – OP112
Position Summary: Supports the continuous improvement of Ryan White Part B services by working under the supervision of the Alabama Department of Public Health Clinical Quality team and with Part B service providers, collecting and analyzing data related to the quality and quantity of services provided and the effectiveness of those services in meeting clients’ needs and facilitates implementation of improvement activities. Degree in Nursing or health-related field. Master’s degree or Registered Nurse preferred.
