Last fall United Way’s Legacy Gifts had the privilege to honor individuals who have been supporting United Way for 50 years or more at a luncheon held at The Club. The event was made possible through contributions from Bill and Becky Smith, McGriff Seibels & Williams, and Protective Life Corporation. Board Member Alice Williams spoke about the changes that she has seen during her 50+ years of volunteering with United Way. Elmer Harris shared how he became involved with United Way when he became the campaign chairman in 1995.
Some of the 50 year donors in attendance included Marsha Asman, Ben Branscomb, Henrietta Emack, Joseph Gamble, Glenda and Elmer Harris, Sally and Jim Johnson, Dottie Krusen, Lynette McCrary, Jean Miller, Margaret Ragland, Lynne Simmons, Phyllis Weinstein, and Alice Williams.
Also in attendance were our hard-working volunteers Moon Head, Mallie Ireland, David Pittman, and Terry Kellogg.
We are thankful for these special donors and their diligent commitment to the United Way of Central Alabama. We look forward to celebrating together again this fall.
