United Way of Central Alabama (UWCA) is deeply grateful to Pastor Michael K. Moore and the congregation of Faith Chapel for their generous donation of $20,000 last week to aid in long-term relief for the victims of, and damages from, the recent Selma tornadoes. The donation will be split evenly between two Long Term Recovery Committees serving Selma and Coosa County.
When asked why his congregation decided to choose UWCA’s Selma relief fund as the recipient of their donation, Pastor Moore said, “We as a church have been blessed in a lot of ways, but we believe that what we’re blessed with is not just for us. We believe that we’re blessed to be a blessing, to make a difference; and we saw this as an opportunity to not just pray, though we believe in prayer, but to also provide practical support, as well.”
