Just Peachy: Connecting with the Community at Chilton County’s Peach Jam

United Way of Central Alabama (UWCA) was proud to participate in the 2024 Peach Jam Jubilee on Saturday, June 8th, at Clanton City Park in Chilton County. This annual event brings thousands together for a day of fun, food and music to celebrate Chilton County’s peach crop and support local farmers.

The Peach Jam is more than just a festival; it’s a time to connect with friends and neighbors while visiting local vendors and organizations such as United Way. This event provided a wonderful opportunity for United Way to engage with residents of Chilton County, sharing information about our many community programs and services available in Central Alabama. It also offered a chance for people to learn how they can get personally involved in the various ways United Way is changing people’s lives for the better and strengthening families.

In 2021, UWCA expanded its service area to include Chilton County (joining Blount, Jefferson Shelby, St. Clair and Walker counties) — a significant step in supporting even more families in Central Alabama.

Our efforts in Chilton County are supported by partnerships with several local nonprofit agencies dedicated to improving lives every day. These partnerships enable United Way to provide local access to vital services that address health and wellness, education and youth support, hunger relief, financial stability and more.

In 2023, more than 29,000 residents of Chilton County received services from 38 programs and agencies funded by United Way.
