“Pacesetter” is the yearly predecessor – a primer — to United Way of Central Alabama’s (UWCA’s) annual fall campaign. Usually running through June and July, the Pacesetter Campaign lays an important foundation and sets the tone for what comes next. It involves a certain number of companies every year that step up to conduct their internal campaigns early and, by doing so, give the fall campaign an enthusiastic jumpstart.
Rebekah Elgin-Council, Chair of the 2023 Pacesetter Campaign and Chair of the Marketing Committee, said, “It is an honor to work as a team with other community leaders and volunteers to raise funds for those in need. I believe we all have a responsibility to help people and improve life for everyone in our community, and it is very fulfilling for me to be a small part of the effort. The needs are great and the work United Way is doing through the network of volunteers makes a difference for so many people.” The Pacesetter team has set an exciting goal of recruiting 100 Pacesetter companies in honor of UWCA’s 100th year.
