Easterseals West Central Alabama (ESWCA) had its beginnings in the Selma Rehabilitation Facility, which opened as a storefront crafts program in 1957. In 1993, ESWCA changed from facility-based services to community-based services. Over the last few years, the focus of services has changed significantly with ADRS; our primary services now are assessments and pre-employment classes for students in special education programs to help transition from school to work or post-secondary education. In Chilton County, which has been and continues to be our highest volume service area, that includes any special needs students at Chilton County High School, Isabella High School, Jemison High School, Maplesville High School, Thorsby High School and Verbena High School. Easterseals West Central Alabama is affiliated with Easterseals Alabama, Inc (ESA).
