As someone who takes care of my in-laws in their mid-80s, there is one number we have on speed dial—1-800-AGE-LINE (243-5463). Here’s why it’s so important and how it can help seniors you know and care for in Jefferson County.

This important number is made possible by the United Way Area Agency on Aging (UWAAA) through the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), which serves seniors, people of all ages with disabilities and their caregivers in their search for assistance programs.
“The UWAAA is such a valuable yet unknown resource for seniors and individuals with disabilities. We want to bring awareness to the residents of Jefferson County so individuals and their families can receive the resources and services they need.” Karla Lawrence, Senior Vice President Community Initiatives, United Way of Central Alabama.
