United Way Names its St. Clair County Campaign Chair

Joel Day, St. Clair County chairman for United Way of Central Alabama Campaign, will lead the St. Clair County campaign to raise resources in support of the agencies and programs in his county that focus on the county’s most pressing needs.

United Way of Central Alabama announced Joel Day as the St. Clair County campaign chairperson March 10 at its annual Campaign Cabinet Retreat.

Day works as Market Leader for BB&T in Pell City. However, his volunteer and philanthropic work extends throughout the community.

“I am very excited and looking forward to working with not only the United Way staff, but also the businesses here in St. Clair county in order to make each and every campaign as successful as it can be so we can help as many people as we can in our community,” said Day.

He’s served as past president of the Pell City Lions Club in 2001 and Pell City Chamber of Commerce in 2010 and has been on the board for five years and still serves as a member of the Chamber of Commerce.

Day was nominated for Citizen of the Year in 2001. He also served on the Pell City School System Advisory Board for six years.

In 2015, volunteers raised nearly $350, 000 for agencies and programs that focus on dozens of the most pressing issues in the county.

United Way of Central Alabama serves Jefferson, Shelby, Walker, Blount and St. Clair counties by providing solutions for the most important needs in the community.
