Kalee’s Recovery Story
Fellowship House supported me three or four times because they told me I could stay as long as I needed to.
They helped me find a counselor I could go to, support groups I could attend and other resources that helped me along the way.
They also played a role in helping me get where I am today by recommending me to the Recovery Community Resource Services program through Ross Recovery. That’s an internship program that helps people become Certified Recovery Support Specialists.
Because of their recommendation, I joined the program as an intern. Over time, I advanced from intern to facilitator, and today I serve as the Campus Coordinator for the Birmingham home office of Ross Recovery.
Only because of Fellowship House am I where I am today.
They not only helped me maintain my recovery and develop coping skills that I still use every day, but they also helped me build a career. That career has helped me become more stable, have a home to live in, a car to drive and a family I know how to take care of.
Because of the work Fellowship House is doing, it has completely changed my life.
With support from Fellowship House, Kalee found tools and encouragement to rebuild her life—and a path to helping others.
Counseling, support groups and other resources helped her build a foundation for long-term recovery. Fellowship House then encouraged her to pursue an opportunity with Ross Recovery’s Recovery Community Resource Services program. What began as an internship grew into a career.
Today, Kalee serves as Campus Coordinator for Ross Recovery’s Birmingham office, supporting individuals and families as they navigate their own recovery journeys.
“Because of the work Fellowship House is doing, it completely changed my life.”
